We’ve all watched the top poker players from the world compete for a bracelet at the last table in a major tournament and we’ve seen them pull a bluff and then steal a pot or two. There’s nothing more exciting than waiting breathlessly to determine whether one different player will read the bluff or fall for it. It is that rush and excitement that many players crave and that’s the reason why so many strive to bluff and so many wind up getting spat out of the tournaments.

What type should you take to to bluff? How about neither one? That’s right, neither one. The main reason is that beginners will telephone on just about any hand since they do not have enough skill or knowledge to appreciate if they should put a hand down. The best bluff in the whole world means nothing to them.

On the flip side, that world champion didn’t get to be champion by saving up box shirts. She or he earned that bracelet by being able to read different players. The probability of bluffing them is pretty slim. The only thing you will likely do at a championship with a bang would be to show your own inexperience.

When playing in tournament, survival may be the name of the match and which means playing somewhat tight and conservatively. You need to only go all in on an excellent hands and only when pot odds ensure it is a fantastic bet.
